Royal Jelly - Before you decide to take royal jelly, be aware that people with asthma or allergies to bees or honeybee products may have serious allergic reactions to it. Of course, if you are allergic to bees, honey and such you probably won't be on this page!
Royal jelly is a substance produced by worker honey bees. If fed to an ordinary female bee throughout the larval stage, royal jelly will transform her into the queen
bee. As a queen, she will grow 1Ĺ times normal size, become extremely fertile and lay over a thousand eggs each day. Incredibly, she may live over five years
while all the other bees live for a few weeks only. The only difference is that she receives royal jelly throughout her life while worker bees don't.
Royal Jelly contains 18 essential amino acids, vitamin B6 and Pantothenic Acid. It's often used to increase
fertility and treat PMS in women and has shown signs of improving the adrenal system. Royal jelly has a history in Folk Medicine as a skin tonic and hair growth stimulant. The skin benefits are supposed to include a nourishing process that reduces wrinkles. Royal jelly has also been considered to be a general tonic that has a general overall action rather than any specific biological function, which benefits menopause and sexual performance. Perhaps itís most significant use has been as an aid in increasing energy.
